Laramie County School District 1 Student of the Week
Miles Porwoll, who is an eighth-grade student at McCormick Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Nov. 25.
Porwoll, who has a 4.0 GPA, holds himself to high expectations and leads by example. He is extremely active and enjoys being outside and participating in hobbies such as skiing, mountain biking and backpacking. He also excels at sports such as baseball, football and track.
According to members of the nominating committee, Porwoll is an outstanding student and individual. He is hardworking, caring and exhibits leadership daily. He is motivated to do the best at everything that he tries and sets high expectations for himself.
McCormick teachers said Porwoll works hard in the classroom, is reliable, and is a role model among his peers. He is a leader in the building and can bring other students together.
“The nominating committee made a unanimous decision to select Miles to represent McCormick and be the student of the week,” Principal Justin Conroy said. “Keep up the good work!”
