Laramie County Library and Laramie County Community College with the LCCC Foundation to host No-No Boy multimedia concert and workshop.
No-No Boy will perform a multimedia concert on Monday, Oct. 8 at the Laramie County Library.
Then on at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, a workshop will be held in the ANB Bank Leadership Center in the Clay Pathfinder Building on the LCCC campus.

No-No Boy is performed by Julian Saporiti and Erin Aoyama, taking inspiration from interviews with Japanese Incarceration camp survivors and many other stories of Asian American experience. Saporiti has transformed his doctoral research at Brown University into folk songs in an effort to bring these stories to a broader audience. Alongside Aoyama, whose family was incarcerated at Heart Mountain, Wyoming, one of the 10 Japanese American concentration camps, No-No Boy aims to shine a light on experiences that have remained largely hidden in the American consciousness.
Saporiti, a former Wyoming resident and instructor at the University of Wyoming, and Aoyama are partnering with the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center to offer a series of workshops and concerts around Wyoming to help raise awareness of a still hidden part of the state’s history, as well as sharing their work as scholars and musicians who travel the nation behind their unique project No-No Boy.
