Local Company Dancers Shined
Last night at the Cheyenne Civic Center was a one-night-only performance.
Ballet Wyoming performed “Harvest.” This dance was vibrant, lively and brought a new caliber of dance to the greater Cheyenne area. The piece was set by Cleo Parker Robinson (CPR) and was learned over the course of 5 rehearsals. Elizabeth Daly, Ballet Wyoming intern, learned the dance and brought back the choreography teaching the company for its Friday evening debut.
Board of Directors member, Janie Wilcox, expressed, “The smiles on their faces say it all. They met and studied under a world-renowned choreographer, gained immediate respect and admiration for a professional company, and then brought their A-game to make CPR proud. Oh what a night!”
Ballet Wyoming continues to impress the community with their ability to educate and excite with each performance. Artist education is an important part of their mission. Going beyond just the performance to offer community outreach opportunities with school assemblies and offering master classes for area dancers, sets Ballet Wyoming a part.
The talented dancers of Ballet Wyoming come from a variety of local studios such as Act II, En Avant, and Bodylines, to name a few. They unite under the Ballet Wyoming Company to strengthen their abilities and are exposed to a level of professional development in dance that is not otherwise available.
