Medicine Bow Technologies (MBT), a leader in information technology (IT) and managed services, today announced the acquisition of the IT Services division of McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP, a Cheyenne Wyoming-based public accounting and consulting firm. The office of McGee, Hearne & Paiz provides accounting, tax, and various other consulting services to approximately 60 IT customers in Wyoming, northern Colorado and western Nebraska.
“This combination brings together two well-regarded Wyoming based technology companies to enhance services to all current and future customers,” said Luke Schneider, CEO, Medicine Bow Technologies. “Integrating the McGee, Hearne & Paiz IT Services team into the Medicine Bow Technologies family will allow us to continue to serve all of our customer’s technical needs throughout Wyoming and well into northern Colorado and Nebraska.”
McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP, the largest CPA firm in Wyoming, was formed in September of 2000 by nine founding partners. Prior to that time, they were the office of RSM US LLP in downtown Cheyenne. The firm’s Wyoming roots can be traced back to the 1930s when they were originally formed under the name Haselmire & Cordle.
Robert Dahill, Partner with McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP, has served as liaison to MBT on behalf of the Firm and commented on the process: “As our Firm continues to grow and expand, we were looking for a strategic partner for our IT Services division and MBT has already proven to be a wonderful fit for our clients and our culture. This move will allow us to focus our expertise on our core services – accounting/auditing/taxation, while ensuring that our valued IT clients are served by an organization that focuses their expertise on their core service – managed IT service. It is a win-win for our companies and, especially, our clients. Everyone at McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP is excited about this venture and looks forward to our relationship with MBT.”
Headquartered in Laramie, MBT was created in 2006 by Ivinson Memorial Hospital to provide technology service solutions to health care providers throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Medicine Bow Technologies specializes in IT managed services and has been serving hospitals and clinics, school districts, government entities and various businesses around Wyoming and Colorado for more than eleven years.
“Growth and maintaining excellent customer service are top priorities for MBT,” said Shaun Bullock, the company’s Chief Business Development Officer. “With this acquisition, we will add several new technical team members, customer accounts and build upon our current suite of IT managed services we offer to our customers.”
The acquisition is expected to be completed in July of 2017.
“We’re excited about this acquisition and it is our hope it is just the first of many to come,” said Schneider.
