New Filipino Restaurant, Nipa Hut, Coming Soon
The beloved Filipino food truck, Nipa Hut, will be opening a new restaurant in Cheyenne soon.
Nipa Hut announced their future home will be on Central Avenue, by the southeast corner of Lions Park – where the restaurant was located. They are currently preparing the location and will be announcing their opening date on Facebook. This establishment will be in addition to their FE Warren Base location and their Food Truck.
According to their website, a Nipa Hut is a little house, built with nipa leaves and bamboo, found on the islands of the Philippines. Most of the time, these huts can be found around a vegetable garden or out in the fields as a place to rest, eat a meal, and enjoy the company of friends and family.
Nipa Hut has shared, “our version of a nipa hut is built on the high plains of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Since 2013, we’ve been operating a food truck during the summers and a small restaurant on F.E. Warren Air Force base. We recently signed a lease on a property by Lions Park and are planning to have a grand opening some time this year, 2019.”
