Officer Shot Responding to Domestic Disturbance

A Cheyenne Police Department officer is recovering after being shot while responding to a call of a domestic disturbance at 935 W. 6 St. The CPD responded to that location at about 5:20 p.m. on September 22.
During a scuffle with the suspect, a firearm was discharged, striking an officer in the foot. The suspect in the disturbance, Joseph Jacquez, 26, of Cheyenne is in CPD custody. Nobody else was injured during the encounter. The injured officer was transported to CRMC for treatment and is in stable condition.
This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
