Operation Care Package Benefits Over 300 Soldiers this Holiday Season
The Cheyenne Elks Lodge has been collecting donations from Lodge members and the Cheyenne community for “Operation Care Package.”
The Lodge is in the process of packing 340 boxes for deployed soldiers of the Wyoming Army National Guard. Their goal is to provide soldiers with a little piece of home while they are far away from the comforts over the holidays.
Once packed, funds are needed ship the care packages – shipping costs approximately $18 per box, for a total of $6120 to ship them all. The Lodge is requesting financial assistance to complete this project and send these care packages to the men and women of the Wyoming National Guard who represent Wyoming on foreign soil.
Local businesses and community members have been contributing to Operation Care Package since September. Blue Federal Credit Union has committed $1000 to help ship the packages.
Assistance is needed by November 20, 2019, to ship the care packages as soon as possible. Help over 300 soldiers receive a care package with items that may not be readily available to him or her.
