Pop-Up Art Gallery in Downtown Cheyenne
Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Cheyenne Artwalk, and Arts Cheyenne joined in a collaboration to supply the community a pop-up art gallery pilot program.
This program is centered around working with the owners of empty downtown storefronts to create temporary pop-up art galleries for the monthly Cheyenne Artwalk events organized by Arts Cheyenne over the summer. This project will begin on May 9th for May’s Artwalk at 113 W. 17th Street where five local artists will be featured during the 5-8 p.m. walk.
Each of the five months of this project will have a different theme. The themes include:
- May: Reclaimed
- June: Smalls for the Walls+
- July: Wyoming
- August: Freeform
- September: Change
May artists who are participating in the “Fill the Space Art Gallery” include: Bria Hammock (acrylic), Chad Blakey (acrylic on skateboards), Megan Jon (ceramics), Heather Smith (found object mixed media) and Steve Knox (mixed media on vintage sheet music).
