“Reality Town” creates valuable teaching lessons

“Laramie County Community College’s GEAR UP program has brought on an educational activity that gives high school students a dose of adulthood. In this LCCC Spotlight, Lisa Murphy takes us to Reality Town.”

The Reality Town program helps students to prepare for life after high school and acts as a “reality simulator” so students can get an understanding of certain aspects of life. As students enter, they are given specifics about their simulated life based on their current GPA. The intent of the program is to help students see that if they work hard now, that will help place them in better standings in the future.
