River Mossberg Named Student of the Week By LCSD #1
River Mossberg was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of May 6.
A McCormick Junior High eighth-grader, Mossberg is an excellent student whose favorite subject is science. He enjoys art and drawing as well.
Mossberg is an outstanding wrestler and plans to pursue the sport in high school. His extracurricular activities include hunting and fishing, but his passion is rodeo.
Mossberg won the junior bull riding competition at Cheyenne Frontier Days last summer. He is currently ranked 22nd in the world in junior bull riding and first in the junior high rodeo division. He competed in the National Finals Rodeo last winter and hopes to make a return trip.
Committee members say they selected Mossberg because he is an amazing person who always puts his best effort into everything he does. He is respectful and courteous and goes out of his way to be nice to everyone.
“River is extremely caring and compassionate,” committee members said. “His attitude about tenacity and hard work should be an inspiration to us all.”
