March 1 Prevent Child Abuse Wyoming: The mission is coordinating prevention efforts in Wyoming to prevent incidents of child neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
March 8 Safe Harbor: Provide a child friendly, safe and supportive environment for abused and neglected children. Conducts child forensic interviews for law enforcement and social services, facilitates the “Child Protection Team” for Laramie County and provides Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchanges with children and families.
March 15 Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless: Dedicated to improving available resources for our community’s homeless population.
March 22 Bikers Against Child Abuse (B-A-C-A): This chapter in Laramie County is a united organization of bikers who empower victims of child abuse and remove their fear. They work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children and they stand ready to lend support to their wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization.
March 29 Meals on Wheels: Dedicated to improving the quality of life of those with greatest physical, nutritional, social and economic needs. The only area program that delivers hot meals in person, which allows added availability to check on clients’ safety and provide daily companionship.
April 5 The ARC of Laramie County: The Arc of Laramie County promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community. Focus will be to expand and improve transportation program, offset cost of bowling league and expand Art for Arc.
April 12 Health Works: Qualified health center dedicated to the provision of premier medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services to all residents of Cheyenne and Laramie County. They provide acute, chronic and preventative care services and strive to be “Your Health Care Home”.
April 19 Black Dog Animal Rescue: The mission of Black Dog Animal Rescue is to provide homeless animals across Wyoming with guaranteed safe and secure placement, promote the use of proven life-saving programs in our communities, and advocate for animal welfare.
April 26 Alzheimer’s Association: Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the US. In Wyoming, the Alzheimer’s Association provides care and support for those affected, education, advocacy and funds to fuel vital research.
May 3 Wyoming Senior Citizens, Inc.: Purpose is to meet the needs of Wyoming’s older residents and help them maintain their independence.
May 10 Community Action of Laramie County: Community Action of Laramie County is dedicated to eliminating poverty by empowering people through education, advocacy, crisis intervention and providing opportunities toward self-sufficiency.
May 17 Optimist International: Members work each day to make the future brighter by bringing out the best in children, in their communities, and in themselves.
May 24 Family Promise of Cheyenne: The mission of Family Promise of Cheyenne is to provide homeless families with emergency and on-going shelter, meals, and supportive services through a unique partnership with various local faith communities. Assist in helping families become self-sufficient through development of life-coping skills and locating sustainable employment.
