Many businesses already use AI to answer the calls of customers, but now customers will have the option to call businesses using AI. With a new feature being launched by Google called “Ask for me”, customers can use AI to ask general inquires over the phone rather than calling a business directly.
Going deeper: Primarily aimed at businesses like salons, repair shops, and restaurants, the feature allows customers to input the information they’re looking for, and the AI will make the call on their behalf. During the call, a human-like voice will handle the conversation, providing a seamless experience. Afterward, customers will receive a summary of the information gathered, including details like pricing and availability. “Ask for Me” is still in an experimental phase, with a waitlist for access, but it is currently available in English within the U.S.
