The Lincoln Seeks $60k in 30 Days
Jon & Renee Jelineks are entrepreneurs in Cheyenne who are now venturing into the non-profit world by converting the Lincoln Movie Palace into a music venue.
They made the announcement of their purchase of the building in May of 2018 and have been exploring methods of transformation since. The non-profit they formed is called the Alternative Arts Project. To keep the momentum going they are asking the public to contribute $60k in the next 30 days. In the interim they are going to be starting the demolition and are hoping everyone will come through with donations to cover the expense.
In addition, they shared in a recent video online their renovation plans of the venue. The venue will have leveled tiers leading down to the stage. The projector room will be converted into a gathering space for enjoying a beverage, along with bars being featured throughout the venue. In the balcony, the historic seating will remain, and the vacant portion below will be converted into stadium seating. Demolition of a large wall to increase the space of the stage will be essential to the project and the primary motivation behind the $60k fundraising request. In its current state it causes the stage to be too small to attract prominent acts.
