Two Teenage Girls Rescued
On Saturday, January 20th, Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers were dispatched for an Attempt To Locate (ATL) involving a blue extended cab pickup with Washington state plates. Troopers were trying to locate the vehicle with an adult male transporting two juvenile females who were suspected of being in danger. The vehicle was believed to be en route from Washington to Kansas.
While Troopers across the state were looking for the vehicle, Troopers in Cheyenne were able to ascertain the suspect’s cell phone number and have it pinged to a location west of Green River, Wyoming. Trooper’s contacted both Little America Hotels in Wyoming and advised the managers of the hotels to keep a look out for the vehicle.
A short time later, the manager of the Little America Hotel west of Green River, spotted two teenage girls with the suspect and called WHP dispatch. Troopers and Sweetwater County Deputies responded and made contact with the suspect and the two teenage girls. After an interview was conducted and the vehicle was searched, it was discovered the suspect had items within the vehicle to aid him in assaulting the two teenage girls.
The two juveniles were taken into protective custody by Sweetwater County Deputies and the suspect was also taken into custody by Sweetwater County Sheriff Deputies. Sweetwater County detectives are currently involved in a multi-agency investigation with several Washington Law Enforcement agencies.
