Western Art Show & Sale

The Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show kicks off in ten days!

This year, they are featuring nine new artists: Lisa Gordon, Susie Hyer, Robert McFarland, Audrie Mergelman, James Moore, Mary Lou Pape, Sabrina Stiles, and Dan Young, the Maverick’s Choice piece from the Western Spirit Art Show & Sale, and an exciting live auction.

The Museum’s Young Professional group, The Mavericks, selected a piece from the Western Spirit Art Show and Sale, “Moon When Wolves Run Together” by Will Ersland, to be featured and available for sale in the CFD Western Art Show.

The live auction this year will feature two experiences with regional artists: Brandon Bailey will host a studio tour and cocktail party and paint the purchaser a custom piece of artwork. Robin Laws will host a studio tour and barbecue lunch on Friday, July 20 and offer the attendees a miniature sculpture. Ronnie Dunn, of the legendary country music duo Brooks & Dunn, donated one of his prints from the 2017 Cheyenne Frontier Days. Wyoming designer Alexis Drake created a custom sterling silver CFD Chicklet Bracelet and leather handbag inspired by the “Daddy of ‘em All.” Finally, The CFD Buckle Club donated the collectible and highly sought-after print, Happy Hour.

Also new this year, we are featuring four artisans in the Western Art Show. Linda Szabo, who specializes in textiles is showing a handmade cape; Annie Margarita who specializes in leatherwork, is showing a custom-built leather fly rod, reed, and slip cover; Arnold Goodluck, a fourth-generation silversmith and jeweler is bringing a traditional concho belt; and Diane Scalese who specializes in engraving silver and gold, is showing a sterling silver, hand-engraved bracelet.
