Winners Announced!
The Cheyenne Community Recreation and Events hosted their annual photography contest. The Standing Out Photography Contest and Exhibit is designed to showcase that even in a crowded environment or surrounded by conformity, there is something or someone that stands out. This event featured multiple divisions and the winners were announced on January 15, 2019, at a reception held at the Cheyenne Civic Center.
“We received 114 photo submissions by 43 different photographers.” stated Brittany Hooper, Programs & Facilities Manager of the Cheyenne Civic Center.
Winners announced were:
- Amateur – Matt Lovett
- Intermediate – Cirena Smith
- Professional – Jerry Ulriech
- Best of Show – Jerry Ulriech
“There were a lot of great pieces entered and judging was kind of tough. I’m very encouraged by the number of styles entered.” Christine Kronz of Christine Kronz – Photographer LLC.
Christine served as one of the judges for the Standing Out competition and offered words of encouragement to photographers to enter contests to receive feedback and encouragement.
The photographs will be on exhibit January 16 through February 21 on the first and second floor of the Cheyenne Civic Center located at 510 West 20th Street. Some of the entries are for sale.
