Wyoming Advocates for Business in D.C.
Annually the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce conducts a fly-in with business community and elected officials in attendance.
The Wyoming Wrangler program of the Chamber funds a D.C. Lobbyist who advocates on behalf of area businesses interests annually. For every $1 invested in the program there is a return of $1,000 in economic impact. Such projects have included military mission expansions, recreational projects, infrastructure, transportation and business development funding. In 3 days a variety of important meetings are accomplished. A briefing from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce helps to educate industry and community members on current pro-business candidates and positions. Then direct meetings with Wyoming delegates are held to express appreciation for advancements on existing policies and continued asks are addressed to ensure focus on progress.
During the 2018 visits an array of individuals were in attendance from Mayor Marian Orr, to representatives from the Boeing Company currently competing for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Contract for the FE Warren Modernization.
While in D.C. the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, Dale Steenbergen was presented by Congressman Liz Cheney and special statement of recognition for his recent Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce Award, Chamber Director of the Year.
“I am very humbled to be recognized by Congressman Liz Cheney. I know she has been working hard to represent the interests of our State and it is so kind of her to take the time to honor my local achievement. Thank you very much Representative Liz Cheney.” expressed Dale Steenbergen, President/CEO.
