Wyoming Senior Olympics To Be In Cheyenne
The Wyoming Senior Olympics (WSO) unveiled their official trailer featuring updated sponsor logos for the upcoming games in Cheyenne.
Due to the weather the festivities of the unveiling was moved inside of the Cheyenne Depot Museum. Cheyenne will host the Wyoming Senior Olympics from August 8-10, 2019.
The newly updated trailer will feature a logo from Black Hills Energy (Presenting Sponsor) alongside First Interstate Bank, Blue Federal Credit Union, and Jonah Bank of Wyoming (Gold Medal Sponsors) and Woodhouse Roden Nethercott (Silver Sponsor).
The Wyoming Senior Olympics are a joint effort between the City of Cheyenne, Visit Cheyenne, and the community to produce a large regional event; showcasing Cheyenne’s ability to host events of this magnitude. According to WSO Past President, Bill Stone, the games will attract athletes from as many as 23 states. The games were last hosted by Cheyenne in 2012.
During the press conference a Wyoming Senior Olympics medalists shared how he got involved.
“I was bored one day and decided to get on the internet and see what I could do over the weekend. I signed up right then. Told my wife that I was going to Sherdian for the Wyoming Senior Olympics. I had the best time of my life…literally best time of my life.” expressed Skip.
The forthcoming games will feature 18 sports and over 200 total events. The 2020 games – also held in Cheyenne – will serve as a qualifying year for the National Senior Olympics.
