Don’t let Retail Crime Spoil the Holiday Spirit
The U.S. Chamber held an event on Staten Island, NY, with the Staten Island Chamber and Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) on Dec. 15, on fighting back against retail crime.
Why it matters: “This is a national issue and it’s affecting both our small businesses and our largest members,” Chamber Senior Vice President Tom Wickham explained. “Small businesses report over 50% have seen an increase in theft in their stores.” Government’s job is to protect the public. Leaders at all levels must take decisive action to stop the crime wave sweeping across America.
WY We Care: While this meeting didn’t directly involve Wyoming, our business community has also felt the sting of retail crime, especially in the midst of the holiday season. We must work together as a community to fight back against retail theft and protect our businesses.
