The Albany Restaurant & Bar located on Capitol Avenue near the Cheyenne Depot in Downtown is celebrating 75 years in business. According to their website the building was constructed in 1900 and was originally the Hotel Becker. During an ownership change the Le Barron’s Restaurant was renamed The Hotel Albany. The iconic bar portion was previously named The Depot Exchange Cafe, The Kabis Cafe and The Stockman’s Bar.
Since 1942, The Albany Restaurant & Bar known today has been owned and operated by the same family. They kept this historic element of Cheyenne’s heritage a prevalent part of downtown. To celebrate they are surfacing lunch and dinner specials which were previously served.
Specials such as: Liver and Onions, Lima Beans and Ham, and The Denver Sandwhich just to name a few. Their weekend specials during their anniversary week will include Bone-In Kansas City Cut Steak, as well as a Ham Steak with Macaroni and Cheese. Bar specials include $1.00 8 oz. domestic draft beer and $3.00 margaritas. They will also have live music Friday and Saturday night featuring Cheyenne’s own Deuces Wild.
