Mayor Orr Announces Free Admission to Furloughed Employees at City of Cheyenne Facilities
The City of Cheyenne is comprised of many government employees and the City of Cheyenne is helping to reduce its impact on citizens.
In light of the current government shutdown, and today being the first day that these employees were not paid the City of Cheyenne released the following:
“Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr announced Friday that due to the government shutdown, with hundreds of Cheyenne residents going unpaid, the City of Cheyenne is offering FREE admission for furloughed employees and a guest to our Ice and Events Center, Aquatics Center, as well as shows and events at the Civic Center based on availability with a valid Federal ID during this period.”
Mayor Marian Orr further expressed to K2 News during an interview, following the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Luncheon presented by Jonah Bank of Wyoming, her primary motivation to offer this opportunity.
“Today is the first day during the government shutdown that the employees are not receiving a pay check. I then thought to myself, as a City what can we do.” Shared Mayor Orr.
