Celebrating a Century of Service
This year, ANB Bank is excited to celebrate one hundred years in Cheyenne!
Originally named American National Bank and opened in the Hynds Building in 1919, ANB Bank is proud to be a part of the Cheyenne community for a century.
In the late ‘50s having outgrown its original space in the Hynds Building, construction began on a new bank building at 20th and Capitol Avenue, to include Wyoming’s first drive-up banking facility. In 1960, ANB Bank moved into its current Cheyenne facility at 19th and Capitol.
In 1987, the Bank was purchased by Donald Sturm of the Sturm Financial Group, Inc. out of Denver, Colorado.
Always looking ahead, the bank became the first to offer “In-Store” banking in the community in 1996 with its bank office on Dell Range in what was then Buttrey Big Fresh, which shortly after became Albertsons. ANB continues to offer convenient service to bank customers via the “In-store” branch in the Albertsons on Pershing. This full-service location offers extended hours right where customers shop.
Today, ANB Bank, Cheyenne, remains a full-service community bank dedicated to serving the citizens and businesses of Cheyenne and Wyoming. The bank helps its community prosper not only as a financial institution, but also through investment, sponsorship, philanthropy, and employee volunteerism.
Across the ANB footprint, the bank has 31 banking centers serving customers in Wyoming, Colorado, and Kansas City. The Bank has financial strength embodied in $2.6 billion in assets. ANB Bank ranks in the top 6% of banks nationwide by size and has an unwavering commitment to excellence.
ANB Bank invites you to join in celebrating their 100th Anniversary in Cheyenne! On Thursday, May 16, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, come enjoy refreshments in our main lobby at 1912 Capitol Avenue.
