Downtown Cheyenne Holiday Plans
Downtown Cheyenne is busy preparing to welcome a collection of festive events this holiday season.
The season begins with Shop Small Saturday, an annual tradition that focuses on spreading the word and importance of shopping local. Support downtown Cheyenne businesses by shopping local Saturday, November 24th and all year round. Stay downtown and enjoy dinner at one of the many fabulous restaurants before stepping outside to watch the streets come to life with the 28th annual Cheyenne Christmas Parade. This family-friendly spectacle showcases a variety of holiday-themed floats with many well-known local businesses and an appearance of the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus.
The festivities continue at the Depot Plaza with the tree lighting ceremony and ribbon cutting of the ice rink with Mayor Marian Orr. But the Holiday magic does not end there, the DDA will host a myriad of events at the plaza throughout the month of December including visits with Santa, Christmas tree sales, themed nights at the ice rink and Christmas music, to name a few. To wrap up the holiday season with a pretty red ribbon and a silver bell, make time to enjoy the Depot Plaza for a snow sculpture contest and other fun activities (weather permitting) on New Year’s Eve afternoon. Stay to ring in happiness and joy to the New Year with the Ball Drop, an event not to be missed!
