Laramie County sales tax reduced to 5%

On April 1st, the sales tax rate in Laramie County reduced to 5% from 6%. The expiration of the “Specific Purpose Tax,” also known as the “6th Penny” expired. Therefore, businesses need to adjust their sales tax collected effective from April 1st on. The next tax may renew and is dependent upon the results of the current special election to renew the tax. Early voting is now open for all Laramie County residents in the governmental complex atrium from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Early voting began March 23rd.
