Laramie County School District 1 Student of the Week
LCSD 1 Student of the Week for the week of December 3rd is Denali Bronder.
Bronder is an eighth-grader at Johnson Junior High. She is an organized student who maintains a 4.0 GPA, takes honors classes and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). Bronder swims for Johnson and with the Capital City Athletes (CCA) club team. She is also first chair in her school band for trumpet.
Along with her involvement at Johnson, Bronder volunteers at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter and is involved in 4H, having competed in State 4H for poultry showmanship. In her spare time, she paints drumsticks to sell at Wyo Music. According to the selection committee, she teaches swimming lessons using creative ideas to engage her students.
“She is a polite and quiet leader,” guidance counselor Jason Garman said. “She continually strives to improve and be her best. We are very fortunate to have her here at Johnson.”
In order to pursue her dream of becoming a feline veterinary, Bronder would like to attend the University of Wyoming and Cornell for veterinary school.
Bronder said although she thinks she does well in her classes, receiving this award still genuinely surprised her and it made her happy.
