Pine Bluffs Distilling releases limited edition Rye Whiskey
Pine Bluffs Distilling, the makers of boutique farm-to-market spirits, is issuing a limited release of a rye whiskey just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
Only 1,002 bottles of the company’s Rye Whiskey will be available when it is officially unveiled during a release party on Saturday, March 16, at the distillery in Pine Bluffs. Like Pine Bluffs Distilling’s Rock Ranch Vodka, Rusted Ring White Whiskey and Lodgepole Creek Bourbon, its Rye Whiskey is made entirely of locally grown grains, according to distillery co-owner Chad Brown.
“It is a true rye whiskey, which has to be at least 51 percent rye,” he said. “This one is 54 percent. Other grains are wheat and barley.”
The rye for the whiskey came from Macy Farms, about 3 miles from the distillery. Rye Whiskey will be available both at the distillery and select liquor stores.
The release party for the whiskey will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 16, and will feature free live music by the Americana/Roots band Winnie Brave, as well as special cocktails.
