Revitalization taking place downtown.
Downtown revitalization is key and sometimes that means updating public spaces. With the change in ownership of the downtown “hole” to a local organization, comes changes to the former location of Mary’s Bake Shoppe, where the fire was originally sparked on December 27, 2004.
The new sign on the fence, formerly hosting signage for the Cheyenne Children’s Museum, was installed July 6th and features the historic Atlas Theatre. The Friends of the Atlas, the organization charged with raising funds for the Atlas Theatre, have worked with various entities to provide the updated look as a tool for education of the changes of the building, as well as the importance of its history. Their current goal is to raise funds for the facade project that was started in June.
